a few of the reasons why

...I Love working out:

  1. I feel happier
  2. I have more energy
  3. I look better (So maybe I don't look like the women in these images, but there's nothing telling me I can't.)
  4. I'm more productive
  5. I eat healthier
  6. I wake up earlier
  7. I have more confidence
  8. My days are more structured
  9. I can release my frustrations in a positive way
  10. I have the best workout partner

Sadly, our trip to Utah this summer, caused quite a hiatus in our workout routine; and unfortunately it has taken us a couple of months to recover. But we're back. Back to the daily grind. It's been 9 days now, and although I don't enjoy all the listed benefits -as of yet, I know that (in time), I will. (Today I'll just be grateful that I was showered and ready for the day by 9:30 am!) They say it takes 21 days to form a habit? Well John, it looks like we're almost half way there!

Sounds like you have the motivation needed to make it to your 21 day mark....but if you ever feel not in the mood to workout watch The Biggest Loser. It is the best! It's on Tuesday nights on channel 5. I think it's at 7pm. If you have TIVO/DVR that helps because when they weigh in at the end it takes a while and it's nice to be able to fast forward at parts.

It's so great and inspiring seeing the contestants try to change their habits.

Men can be such a great motivator. ;)

Seriously, though, I FINALLY understand why people get "addicted" to working out...

Since I broke my back six years, I haven't been able to return to the gym and continue weight lifting. (I was good to go in three times a week, which was a habit I started by junior year of high school).

So, for years my exercise routine was non-existent. That is, until April when I got a bike. It's 5.5. miles from my apartment to work, so I decided to bike it to and from (and everywhere else). I LOVED it! I can't wait for my torn knee to heal completely so I can get back on the bike before it starts to snow!

I have yet to see any physical benefits (no weight loss, no toning, etc.) BUT I did enjoy the exercise. Before my recent accident that tore the cartilidge in my left knee, I was clocking in about 180 miles per week riding around town.

Glad that John is keeping you company (as well as motivated). You go, girl! Work it, own it. :)

Love the list! I totally agree, especially about the being more productive and structured. I don't fully understand why 30 minutes on a treadmill can make the rest of the day better, but it's true! We have the opposite problem you do. We were super motivated this summer, and now back in our normal lives, we've been workout slackers. We need to get it together. Keep up the good work!
