my baby...

isn't a baby anymore. In fact, she's 10 months today, and really quite grown up in a lot of ways. I ask myself all the time, what did I ever do to merit such an angel? ...but graciously, I thank my Heavenly Father for His gift. I love her so, and cherish every moment with her.

Yesterday, she helped me with my house work. I had a laundry basket in the hall (full of things that needed putting away), when I looked over, and saw her reaching in, and throwing things out...almost as fast as I could toss them back in. It was a fun little game, to say the least. After a couple of minutes, I looked over and saw this:

She had been reaching so hard for a particular item, (balancing like a teeter-totter on the edge on the basket) and, finally, she just fell in!

I'm sure you're probably wondering what the above photo is...well, let me explain. About a week ago, I went in Ruby's room to get her up from her nap, when I noticed that her face was mottled with tiny black flecks...and her teeth, too. Later that night, while tucking her into bed, John detected these strange little teeth imprints on the rail of her crib. You may not be able to tell from the photo, but our little animal devoured the top half of her bed! (Guess that explains the derivation of the mysterious black speckles.)

She loves to eat, and will eat anything! Yesterday, we were playing outside, and she started shoveling rocks...right into her mouth. I was only 4 feet away, but before I could get to her, she had managed to shove three of them in.

And then today, while I made cupcakes, I thought it would be fun for her to play with the pots and pans. I pulled them all out of the cupboard; yet, she displayed no interest in them, but rather the microscopic bread crumb lying on the kitchen floor.

Never a dull moment...

Happy ten months...my sweet little Ruby girl.

She's such a sweetheart! She's as good a baby as her mom was. :-) Actually, you've done a lot to merit Heavenly Father's trust with one (and more!) of His precious ones. You and John are worthy, righteous, and conscientious, and in love with each other - who better to be the parents of our beloved Roobs?

My little Ruby makes me laugh with all her little tricks. You look beautiful holding that sweet little baby girl.

She is a cutie! By the way, you can buy plastic guards for her crib railing online from One Step Ahead. They may help preserve your nursery furniture and her teeth.
