He has a very serious congenital heart defect that has required him to have many surgeries in his short (I think he's 3?) life and he will eventually require a heart transplant. One day during a particularly difficult time in coping with the difficulties surrounding their journey, her husband noticed that the blocks above their fireplace that spell "Give Thanks" has "Ethan" spelled in the middle, bridging the two words. I love tender mercies like that.Melaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08222256625945174432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312302214943205505.post-32484658393476961602010-08-12T20:49:57.346-07:002010-08-12T20:49:57.346-07:00love this. gave me chills. he's a lucky boy.love this. gave me chills. he's a lucky boy.nevedobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01213747724373637731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312302214943205505.post-73277009292040867552010-08-11T15:14:55.014-07:002010-08-11T15:14:55.014-07:00Beautifully written!Beautifully written!Laylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00936085345792099254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312302214943205505.post-63738421525409160082010-08-11T14:09:57.040-07:002010-08-11T14:09:57.040-07:00time...there isnt nearly enough of it...wanting to...time...there isnt nearly enough of it...wanting to read it all...beautiful post nicole...your little guy loves you so very much...i must say i have learned so much from jr these past 6 years...it is pretty amazing how our Father in Heaven places them so perfectly in our lives...it most definately is humbling =)Amber and Dallashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08446270607684809324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312302214943205505.post-81543062007108476262010-08-11T12:43:36.598-07:002010-08-11T12:43:36.598-07:00Loved this post! I battle with my own health issues and so I tend to lose my patience WAY too quickly! There are days that I say to myself "I'm doing the lords work" over and over in my head just to make it through the day! Hang in there. your role is divine!Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00025553725173189264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312302214943205505.post-91407584504954059082010-08-11T11:24:19.098-07:002010-08-11T11:24:19.098-07:00You always have the sweetest posts. And it just makes me think from when I used to teach, the kids that required the most work, effort and patience I ended up loving the most.Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06330824067112591632noreply@blogger.com
